The UMaine Center on Aging (CoA) is engaged in a national project to develop a Designation of Excellence (DoE) in person-centered long-term care. This project is a collaboration between the CoA and The Cedars, a residential living community in Portland, Maine. The Research Associate position will play a significant supportive role in the DoE project and possibly in other CoA research and evaluation projects. This position requires the ability to perform independent research work and other specific duties and responsibilities tailored to meet project needs, as well as be part of cohesive and productive team. Under the general direction of the CoA Director, Associate Director, and senior program staff, the Research Associate will assist in, and take initiative on, comprehensive literature reviews; designing and implementing data collection activities; leading and assisting in data analysis and reporting, including data visualization; providing assistance in preparation of grant reports, presentations, manuscripts, and other reports; facilitating or contributing to stakeholder meetings; project file management and similar project management work. Typical hiring range for this soft-money funded position is $45,000 to $50,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
