The Department of Molecular and Biomedical Sciences invites applications for a full-time, academic-year, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biochemistry. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching, advising, and providing research opportunities for undergraduate students in capstone research and independent study and for graduate students. The successful candidate will develop and maintain an externally funded research program. Candidates should be able to effectively teach undergraduate Biochemistry courses and develop a graduate course in their specialty taught on an alternate year basis. The specific research emphasis of this position is flexible and may include, but is not limited to, cellular signaling, immune function, molecular toxicology, the biochemistry of cancer, or other topics in biochemistry. The candidate will also engage in student advising. Faculty with 50/50 teaching/research appointments are expected to average 9 credits of teaching per year. Teaching assignments may change with considerable notice based on department needs and the candidate's expertise.
