The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIE) at the University of Maine (UMaine) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in geotechnical engineering. The position will support the University signature areas of excellence in Engineering and in Advanced Materials for Infrastructure and Energy.
Candidates will be expected to engage in instruction of fundamental and applied geotechnical engineering courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and enhance the Department’s existing curriculum; establish and maintain a nationally-competitive funded research program; author high-quality peer-reviewed publications; train M.S. and Ph.D. students; and actively engage in service to the profession, university, and state. The successful candidate will join a small, but dynamic engineering program dedicated to high-quality teaching, scholarship, and service - where faculty support work-life integration.
