The University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center has an immediate need to hire multiple highly-qualified Engineers II-V to support our continued growth in the area of 3D printing of marine end use parts and vessels and composite tooling for marine applications. The purpose of this position is to provide support in evaluating, designing, and improving large scale additive manufacturing thermoplastic polymer composite processing for marine applications. The Engineer II-V will support, plan, and conduct assigned and/or original research in a variety of research and development projects encompassing material sciences, manufacturing, and the engineering of composites and structures while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and graduate and undergraduate students at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center. Ph.D. in related Engineering fields, polymer engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science, physics, or a related discipline would be an advantage.
